6th Grade at Whitmore
Whitmore is going to have 6th grade here starting the 2024-2025 school year! TUSD has selected our school to become a Pre-K-6th grade school. This is exciting for our kids and families that want to stay in an elementary environment that will better prepare their children for a 7th and 8th grade Middle School experience. We are creating what our 6th grade middle school addition will be and how it will operate. The children will emulate a true middle school experience that will include core classes and electives. The children will switch classes and have changes throughout their day. The district is assisting us with the instruction and operational design for our new 6th grade. We will communicate any new information as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please call us at the office (520) 232-8000.
After School Programs
Sign up for our after-school programs through the 21st CCLC after-school grant.
Join Sports

We offer Cross Country, Basketball, Track and Field, and Kickball.

All children participating in sports need to complete a sports physical. Your pediatrician can fill it out during a well-check or look for free clinics this summer.
If you get them done over the summer break, your child will be ready to compete as soon as school begins. For more info see Tucson Unified Sports.

What Makes Us Special

Our school has a dedicated teaching staff that works diligently to help children be successful. We offer an integrated curriculum where reading, writing, math and science lessons incorporate each of the other subject matters.

Our teachers and staff differentiate instruction to assure each student is successful within instruction tailored to his or her specific needs. We give students an opportunity to integrate many different and authentic experiences into their learning.

We offer band, orchestra, before- and after-school tutoring, sports, art classes, STEM classes, and more.

Teachers collaborate with each other to ensure that students are getting the skills and knowledge they need to be successful.

Mrs. Lenard and the Three Amigos
Mrs. Lenard is the new Exceptional Ed primary teacher for Whitmore. She retired from TUSD after 20 years and is back now doing what she loves!

Her students love watching and learning how to care for the "Three Amigos": Ned, Dusty and Lucky, Mrs. Lenard's fish friends.
